A Step Beyond

Our grant will support approximately 150 Escondido 6-12 graders with dance education, academic help, career education, social-emotional support, and behavioral health counseling. The program targets children and youth whose families are at or below the federal poverty level.

Art Hatch

Our grant will expand the current Teen Arts Program by adding a five-week summer program for Escondido youth ages 13-18. This is in addition to the program that includes twice monthly workshops, art supplies, artist-to-artist mentorships, and rental assistance for studio space.

Community Housing Works

Our grant will provide pre-teens and teens in the Escondido community, Manzanita, with afterschool activities that will build valuable leadership skills, through sports, academic mentoring, financial counseling and behavioral health resources.

Outside the Lens

Our grant will support the Leadership Through the Lens program at San Pasqual Academy, a residential program for foster youth up to 19 years of age. A cohort of 20 11th–12th grade students will study photography and media literacy. Internship opportunities and gallery exhibitions develop students’ technical and creative skills in digital media to prepare and promote career readiness in creative industries.

Peace Anger Love, Inc.

Our grant will support a Restorative Justice Diversion Program that targets vulnerable youth who have been arrested by law enforcement. Using data-driven, evidence-based, and innovative practices this program can significantly reduce re-offending rates among participants.

Tariq Khamisa Foundation

Our grant will expand their partnership with Escondido Union School District and support ongoing, in school mentoring that will provide middle school aged youth with guidance and life skill development.

TrueCare

Our grant will expand their program, Puzzling Minds, to address the growing rates of mental illness and keep students academically involved. The program will integrate bilingual trauma-informed, culturally competent prevention and intervention strategies for middle schoolers.

Vista Hill Foundation

Our grant will increase access to extracurricular pro-social activities and tutoring for middle school aged students/clients served in Vista Hill’s school-based behavioral health services. There will also be increased access to the Screening to Care Prevention Early Intervention Program in the Escondido middle schools.

Grants Celebration Program

Since 2007, more than $4 million has been granted to nonprofits serving Escondido, including contributions made to After-the-Fire Fund. ECF also partnered with the City of Escondido to grant $1.5 million to nonprofit organizations that serve the city.
